There’s still time to find the perfect internship

“Find yourself an internship early in the year,” they said. But even though you’ve got the developing talent and the innate passion for design that makes employers drool, you haven’t found that perfect opportunity yet. If this describes where you’re at, Bluco’s paid summer graphic design internship may be for you.

Bluco is a manufacturing company located in Naperville, about 15 minutes from downtown Naperville. It’s a unique company filled with creative thinkers who produce world-class modular fixturing solutions (don’t worry – we’ll explain what that means when you get here), and top-notch marketing that brings those solutions to life for our audience. We’re looking for a Graphic/Digital Design Intern to assist the Marketing team on a variety of projects, including web page design, PhotoShop editing, catalog and brochure design, event collateral and more.

Basic Tasks:

  • Uploading web content to a WordPress site and creating pages based on existing designs
  • Photography and editing/outlining in PhotoShop
  • Updating catalog layouts, and designing flyers and signage in InDesign
  • Produce short video clips in Premiere Pro

General Requirements:

  • Must be a rising sophomore, junior or senior (entering sophomore-senior year in Fall ’22)
  • Working toward a BA or BS in design, advertising or related field
  • Interest in learning more about B2B marketing
  • A portfolio or coursework that demonstrates your developing creative skills
  • Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
  • Working knowledge of WordPress
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong work ethic

Internship Specifics:

  • Flexible start/end dates
  • $20/hr
  • 8am-5pm, Monday – Thursday (flexibility available)

We are seeking an individual who would like to join our growing team as a Manufacturing Technician. You’ll be responsible for assembling our finished products, inspecting and repairing returned parts, assisting the CNC Machinists delivering material needed for the machines, and other duties. But here’s the best part: we will train the right candidate who is willing to learn about CNC machine technology and motivated to start a career in CNC Machining. Bluco Corporation has been designing and supplying precision modular fixturing systems to the welding and fabricating industry for over 30 years. Basic Tasks:

  • Assemble finished products (carts, rollovers, workstations, etc)
  • Assemble, disassemble and clean fixtures used for CNC milling
  • Setup CNC cutting tools and measure with Tool Presetter
  • Use Faro Tracker to inspect flatness of finished products
  • Deburr parts coming off CNC machines
  • Saw cut raw material to print needed for CNC department
  • Laser mark part numbers on finished goods
  • Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized

General Requirements:

  • Able to convert metric/inch
  • Able to troubleshoot with minimal instruction
  • Able to lift 50 pounds frequently
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Able to operate a forklift, pallet jack and overhead crane

Our manufacturing company, Bluco Corporation (Naperville, IL) strives to deliver high quality products and services and we are looking for an individual to work as a part time Manufacturing Shop Associate as part of our Warehouse team. This position will work closely with the Warehouse Manager performing various tasks along with learning valuable skills.  We are flexible around student schedules and can provide training for all tasks.

Basic Tasks:

  • Assembly of steel parts
  • Laser marking many items including in-house custom parts and those manufactured from outside suppliers
  • Cleaning of equipment and machine parts for reconditioning purposes
  • Pack items for shipment to outside vendors
  • Stock new inventory into designated storage areas
  • Identify product quality issues when unpacking and packing shipments
  • Perform quarterly and annual physical counts of inventory
  • Move inventory around showroom and warehouse as needed
  • Build shipping crates or special sized pallets as needed
  • Light assembly and disassembly responsibilities
  • Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized

General Requirements:

  • Able to convert metric/inch
  • Able to troubleshoot with minimal instruction
  • Able to lift 50 pounds frequently
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Able to operate or willing to learn to operate a forklift, pallet jack and overhead crane
  • Keep workplace immaculate
  • Perform miscellaneous building maintenance tasks occasionally (i.e. water flowers, shovel front walk, clean outside windows, etc.)
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
