Application Engineer
Bluco Corporation designs modular welding and machining fixture solutions for our customers in North America. Our fixturing solutions span all industries and applications. The Application Engineer has a vital role in the success and growth of our company. Bluco Application Engineers are responsible for designing fixturing systems based on customer requirements, installing tooling, and providing post-sale training and support. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing and is looking for a new challenge using this experience. We are looking for individuals with a passion for manufacturing who are technically competent and have the personality to inspire our customers with the proven benefits of modular fixturing solutions.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Designing fixtures in 3D CAD using SolidWorks
  • Reviewing design proposals with customers using internet-based meeting software
  • Creating work instructions using SolidWorks
  • Creating manufacturing drawings for custom designed solutions
  • Leading customer solution runoffs in our state-of-the-art Validation Center
  • Providing on-site training for new and existing customers
  • Performing installation (when necessary) at customer facilities
  • Business travel is required, averages 30-40%

CNC Machinist

Bluco is continually designing new fixturing solutions which can include both custom designed pieces and potentially new catalog items. Our machine shop is then tasked with making these pieces. Our machinists use the latest technology in CNC vertical mills, CNC horizontal mills, CNC grinders, modular fixturing on the mills (our speciality), and CAD/CAM. We are always seeking skilled and experienced CNC Machinists to join our growing team of professionals in both our production and specials departments. The machinists are responsible for setting up, programming, and operating our CNC equipment in addition to inspecting their work to ensure the parts meet our high quality standards.

Responsibilities for the CNC Machinist include:

  • Specifying cutting tools and raw materials
  • Setting up the machine
  • Programming each job (MasterCAM experience a plus, but not required)
  • Building workholding fixtures (we will train machinist on modular fixturing)
  • Running jobs to completion (often with low quantities per job)
  • Inspecting workpieces
  • Having a friendly, positive attitude and enjoying their career with Bluco
